How We Got Started
Toledo’s Pet Bull Project was formed by passionate pit bull owners, dog enthusiasts, and trainers who saw a need in our community. We’re here to prevent animal cruelty, provide education, and offer free training to promote responsible ownership and advocacy for all dog breeds.
Rooted in Community Spirit
Our dedicated volunteers and trainers live right here in Toledo. We’re your neighbors, and we’re committed to giving back by helping dogs and their owners.
As an education-focused organization with a dog rescue program, we work closely with local veterinarians to tackle pet overpopulation and ensure every dog gets the care they deserve.
Prioritizing Youth Education
One of our biggest goals is stopping dog fights and helping misunderstood breeds like pit bulls. We start by teaching young people about compassion and empathy for animals.
When kids learn to treat animals with kindness, they grow up to be responsible pet owners who speak up against cruelty.
Our Commitment to Real Impact
We don’t just talk about making a difference—we measure it. Every program we run is designed to create real, positive change for pets and people in Toledo.
We regularly check our data to make sure our programs are working. If something isn’t making the impact we want, we change it or try something new.
Our supporters have direct access to our “Outcome Plan”—an open-source document that shows exactly how we’re working toward our mission.
