Teacher's PET Class

Toledo's PET Bull Project is proud to offer Teacher's PET, a unique 6-week program that pairs teenagers with amazing rescue dogs in need of a loving touch.

How it Works:

• Teens gain valuable knowledge about dog behavior, training, and responsible pet ownership.
• Through positive reinforcement training, students work with hard-to-adopt dogs to improve their social skills and obedience.
• This human-animal connection benefits both teens and dogs. Teens experience personal growth and build confidence, while the dogs become more adoptable, increasing their chances of finding forever homes.

What Teens Will Learn:

• Canine communication: understanding dog body language and stress signals.
• Dog breeds and responsible ownership.
• Basic dog training techniques: sit, stay, down, leash walking, and more.
• The importance of spaying/neutering and preventing dog fighting.

Program Highlights:

• Weekly workshops led by experienced trainers.
• Fun interactive training games and exercises. 
• Opportunity for dogs to earn their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification.
• Commemorative photo of each student with their graduating pup!

While teens cannot adopt the dogs they train, the bond they create is a rewarding experience for all.
